Most wavy hairstyles focus on emphasizing and modeling them in a relaxed and sexy way. Curly hair can not be mastered easily, this is already known, and sometimes straighteners prove useless, especially when humidity strikes! So what we would do is to leave hair free and a little bit wild so it can only shaped by wind, a messy bun or a jewel headband.
You must have already been exposed to the VMA event and especially the show “performances”, however some of the outfits were really not bad. We hand picked some of the classiest and most elegant looks that pretty much saved the evening. From the amazing embellished dresses worn by the DJ duo Nervo, to Ciara’s couture type of dress, these were the dresses that stole our hearts at the 2913 VMAs.
Which was your favorite outfit?
Taylor Swift
Nervo
Joan Smalls
Selena Gomez
Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have worn two of the most elegant dresses of the evening, both in navy. Ellie Goulding and Rita Ora proved that slit gowns are still a very hot option for the Red Carpet. We were also in owe of supermodel Joan Smalls who chose a minimalistic casual white mini.
Fall has the unique talent of taking us by surprise with golden sunsets, gradient leaves and breezy evenings. As the new season settles in our hearts and in our minds, we always add classic fall staple items like cozy sweaters, ankle boots, vests or jackets in an attempt to hold on to our summer looks! #summerlovers 🙂
This is why layering is our favorite winter sport and our main go to look thin the fall winter seasons. 🙂 Where we are, in Vancouver, it doesn’t get extremely cold in the winter, so we find it’s easier to wear these layered looks throughout the winter.
First thing’s first: Invest in some good cozy sweaters than you can add on top of your shirts , tops and even wear with thinner trench coast or jackets.
Here are some of our favorite sweaters this season!
Far from making a statement against the minimalistic pieces in our wardrobes, today we wish to raise a glass to clothes and accessories which are spectacularly decorated : clothes with embroidery.
Back in the day, embroidery used to decorate royal clothing and religious objects symbolizing high-quality garments in many ancient cultures such as Persia, India, China and leading to Baroque Europe.
With time, decorations and embroidery are transferred to common but elegant clothing embellishing evening gowns or bridal dresses worn by ladies of high society. The price remains high for handmade embroidery and all the precious embellishments, and later craft is passed on from generation to generation.
The 21st century brings the concept of “globe-trotter” and bohemian and nomad inspiration positions embroidery designs in relaxed outfits where decorations with stitching, stones and sequins bring a unique look and embellish dresses, skirts and accessories. Today embroideries are more than a symbol for the traditional and folk outfits, but a creative way to add color and personality to your outfits.
How to wear embroidered pieces?
The versatility and variety of embroidery makes it so suitable for both sophisticated and elaborate outfits such as special occasion gowns, but the cool thing about embroidered pieces is that they can be also worn with basic pieces and neutral colors. This means they are easy to incorporate in day-to-day outfits and they look best when they are the centerpiece of an outfit. Use them with moderation though, one embroidered piece per outfit should be enough! 😉
You can choose embellishments which are made of lace, sewn with colored yarn, crochet or applique elements. These are some great examples of what you should look for when adding embroidered clothes to your wardrobe.
